Boab Tree Prison

This ancient Boab Tree has a circumference of over 14 metres with the hollow centre visible through an oblong split in the trunk. The tree holds great cultural significance to the indigenous people and is known to have several different uses. It was used by local indigenous as a resting and sacred place. It was also used by local cattle drovers as an overnight stop.

Broome

An essential stop for any Western Australia adventure, Broome is the jewel of the Kimberley region. The coastal town has a relaxed vibe and is the pearling capital of Australia. With the warm, and often humid climate, locals often dine al fresco on open decks and wide verandahs to enjoy the tropical conditions.

Cable Beach

Echidna Chasm

Set out on a hike to Echidna Chasm, a natural cleft in rock that reaches a staggering 200 metres in height while only being one metre wide at certain points. The Chasm “glows” when the sunlight reaches overhead and shines on the chasm. To see this natural phenomena be there between 11am and 1pm.

Hike to Emma Gorge where you’ll be rewarded with a swim beneath a towering droplet waterfall. Stay at the Emma Gorge Resort, sleeping under canvas and hearing the relaxing wildlife sounds around you. Absolute heaven.

Geikie Gorge

Located in the Danggu Geikie Gorge National Park, the gorge is famed for its towering walls that have been bleached white by the river when it floods. Here you can viewing the freshwater crocodiles sunning themselves on the rocks and the abundant birdlife.

Halls Creek

Located in the heart of the Kimberley region, Halls Creek is the gateway to the unbelievable formation of the white quartz China Wall. Halls Creek offers an authentic insight into the spectacular Australian outback with something to entertain everyone, from wide open spaces and magnificent natural attractions to rich Indigenous and European history and culture.

Horizontal Falls 

Explore the Horizontal Falls by boat or maybe book a spectacular half-day scenic seaplane flight to Horizontal Falls, admiring the stunning scenery as you fly in over the bay. Ensure you join a tour to see this amazing area. Described by Sir David Attenborough as “one of the greatest natural wonders of the world”, explore the astounding falls on an exhilarating fast boat ride. Experience the intense 12-metre tidal currents rushing through two narrow coastal gorges.

Explore indigenous culture at the town’s many galleries showcasing Aboriginal art. Enjoy the sunset while cruising on Lake Kununurra. Keep an eye out for wildlife and soak up the views as your boat makes its way through winding creeks and picturesque lagoons. There are a number of tours that visit this amazing part of Australia.

Travel to Lake Argyle and join a wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River. From a modern shaded vessel, discover the area’s ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations.

Mitchell Falls

You have a full day to discover the beauty of Mitchell Falls, with its tiered waterfalls and Indigenous rock art. When available, local Indigenous guides will join the adventure. Begin with a guided hike to Little Mertens Falls to view rarely seen rock art. Continue to Big Mertens Falls before arriving at the incredible Mitchell Falls. Go for a swim in the pools above the falls then take an included helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls and the surrounding wilderness back to your 4WD vehicle.

Purnululu National Park 

Take the full day to explore Purnululu National Park on a Kimberley Tour. Starting at Piccaninny Creek, take a walk along this winding gorge set deep within the Bungle Bungle Range offering unparalleled views of the beehive domes. Next stop is Cathedral Gorge, a natural red rock amphitheatre created by millions of years of water erosion. This spacious cavern is renowned for its acoustics, and you’ll see (or hear) why as you wander through it.

Tunnel Creek

Tunnel Creek is home to Western Australia’s oldest cave system. Wade through the cool waters that fill the 750-metre tunnel and emerge on the other side to discover a serene oasis. You won’t be able to avoid going through the water so make sure you wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Enjoy your surroundings with stalactites hanging from the ceilings and fish swimming in the waters.

Windjana Gorge

This geological wonder is home to ancient marine fossils embedded in the gorge walls. The gorge is over three kilometres long and at the base of the gorge deep freshwater pools are home to fruit bats, birdlife, and freshwater crocodiles.

Zebedee Springs

Take a short walk through the prehistoric palms to a series of inviting thermal pools and waterfalls. If you are self-driving, the springs are open from 7am to noon. If you are joining one of our Kimberley tours, you will take a guided tour of the area.
